Amsterdam Houseboat - On the Water Studio

The On the Water Studio is a very charming houseboat located just five minutes walk from Leidseplein, in the old center of Amsterdam. The Museum Square, the Flower Market, the Jordaan, the beautiful Vondelpark and many other highlights are also within few minutes reachable on foot.
Moored on a quiet canal, this studio offers everything any other accommodation would, but more than that, you will live the Dutch way to be “On the Water”.

This houseboat is very neat and it offers complete kitchen, bathroom, privacy, security, comfort and a small terrace with a lot of plants, where you can sit to eat, smoke or have a glass of wine while the boats pass by - it’s an unforgettable experience, you are going to love it! The Accommodation

The accommodation is a big open space with big windows facing the water and the terrace. Everything is very tidy and of good quality. It's a complete house, perfect for a single person or a couple and it offers a comfortable double bed.

The kitchen is totally equipped with everything you may need, including a big fridge and microwave. It is a wonderful experience to cook looking at the canal almost at the level of the water. There is a small wall dividing the kitchen from the dinning table, which offers sitting for four people, in case you have friends for dinner.

The bathroom is compact and very practical, as it is necessary in every houseboat in Amsterdam.
The whole boat is provided of central heating (inclusive in the bathroom); you control the temperature that will make you feel more comfortable.

Small terrace to enjoy the day and see the boats pass by...

Along the front of the boat there is a small deck where you can sit to eat, read or feed the ducks. The terrace is on the side and you can access trough a big sliding window/door.
Some houseboats swing with the waves of the canals but because this one was built on a concrete base and it is attached to the wall of the canal with strong and moveable brackets, you almost don’t feel that you are sleeping on the water, except of course for the soft and sweet sound of the water.

The bathroom is small but very efficient and clean!

Notes:

- This houseboat offers wireless ADSL Internet connection;

- This accommodation is non smoking, but for those wishing to enjoy smoking, there is always the terrace, so no problems here;

- Bed linen and towels are provided;

- There are actually no house rules, the atmosphere is totally relaxed, just a kind request to respect the quality of life of the neighbors; therefore this is not a place for parties and noise should be kept at normal level;

- This accommodation is gay friendly;

- Sorry, not pets are allowed.

Location

As most of the other lodgings Flatmates Amsterdam offers, this site couldn’t be better for your stay: you are walking distance from the well-known attractions of Amsterdam. Because this houseboat is located on a quiet canal, you have peace and quiet during the day or night guaranteed.

Leidseplein - with all its shopping, cafés and theaters - is only 5 minutes walking. The Museum Square, the Flower Market, the Jordaan, the beautiful Vondelpark and many other highlights are also within few minutes reachable on foot. If you want to go to further areas you can always get one of our trams just a few meters from your house. If you are coming by car you can park it on the street in front of your boat or in the Europarking garage.

Check-in and check-out info

- Check-in time is from 2 pm to 10 pm;
- Check-out time is from 8 am to 11 am;

Notes:

- If you want to check-in earlier than 2 pm there are two possibilities:

If the night before your arrival is still available, we can block it on the calendar for you at the moment of your booking; we charge in this case an early arrival fee of 50% of a normal one night rate. You have in this case guarantee of an early check-in (from 8 am);
If you don’t want to pay the early arrival fee, you can take the risk: there is still the possibility of an early check-in if the accommodation was not booked the night before. In this case you will need to contact your host two days before your arrival (contact numbers will be sent on your booking confirmation) to check if it’s available.

For monthly rates we offer bigger reductions, depending on the time of stay;

All rates are inclusive VAT and Tourist Tax;

For early inquiries (longer than 45 days before check-in) and special periods (Easter, Queen’s Day, Gay Pride, IBC conference, Christmas, New Year’s Eve, etc) we require minimum of 4 nights (unless it fits exactly 3 nights in the calendar);

Those special periods may require surcharges; please send us your inquiry, so we can make a quote for you.
